Meridium to present methodology for maximizing production and improving reliability

Roanoke, Virginia – March 31, 2003 – Meridium, the leader in asset performance management solutions, today announced that Richard Beck will present at the AIChE Spring Conference, being held this week in New Orleans. Attracting nearly 2,000 professionals, this annual event sponsored by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is the only conference to focus on the latest areas of growth and advancement for today’s chemical engineer. As part of the Reliability Track, Beck will present “ Achieving Best-in-Class Reliability Through Asset Performance Management” tomorrow.

As Director of Meridium’s Reliability Consulting Group, Beck is an expert in best practices and methodologies used to maximize reliability and production for process industries. He works directly with some of the refining and chemical industry’s largest companies to define, plan and execute asset performance strategies. In his AIChE presentation, Beck will outline the latest framework and approach for attaining reliability objectives while reducing operating costs, called asset performance management, or APM.

’Competitive and environmental issues facing refining and chemical companies today demand that they achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency, reliability, productivity and profitability not only at the plant level but enterprisewide,‘ said Beck. ’APM is the basis for establishing enterprisewide asset strategies that will significantly improve operational effectiveness, ensure greater availability of assets to meet ever-increasing demand, and thus, drive profitability.‘

Read more about APM in the article based on Beck’s presentation, scheduled to appear in the June issue of Chemical Engineering Progress magazine. For more information on the AIChE Spring Conference, visit www.aiche.org.
