Meridium Announces RCMO, a New RCM Application Co-Developed with SAP®

Roanoke, Virginia – Meridium Inc., the leader in asset performance management (APM) software and consulting solutions, today announced it is co-developing a new RCM application with SAP, the world leader in client/server enterprise application software.Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a proven methodology for developing effective maintenance strategies. For decades, manufacturers have used RCM to optimize equipment performance, control risk and improve asset reliability. However, many RCM initiatives fall short due to the difficulty of implementation and follow-up. Most RCM tools are stand-alone systems, disconnected from existing maintenance, inspection and operational systems. As a result: - Loading RCM recommendations is a manual, time-consuming process.
- Once loaded, the connection with the original RCM analysis is lost.
- Keeping the RCM process evergreen is nearly impossible.
SAP and Meridium are addressing these fundamental challenges with RCMOTM,
a new RCM solution tightly integrated with SAP and built with the latest SAP technology. RCMOTM greatly simplifies the process of implementing RCM recommendations in SAP, and makes it easy to measure performance and make adjustments over time.RCMO: - Provides the framework for users to define maintenance strategies based upon RCM and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) principles.
- Integrates the recommendations from an RCM analysis into SAP Maintenance Plans in SAP.
- Drives automated re-evaluation of maintenance strategies to ensure effectiveness is constantly measured for continuous improvement.
Version 1 of RCMO is scheduled for release in Q1 2006 and ramp-up partners are currently being evaluated.
