Meridium Announces Release of Version 1.2 of RCMO, an RCM Application Co-Developed with SAP
[ 3/28/2007 ]

Roanoke, VA, USA – Meridium Inc., the leader in asset performance management (APM) software solutions, today announced the release of version 1.2 of its newest product, RCMO™ (Reliability Centered Maintenance and Optimization). The product was co-developed by SAP and Meridium, and designed to operate exclusively with the SAP® Enterprise Asset Management™ solution. Customers who have implemented RCMO include Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company, TransAlta, Queensland Alumina Ltd, and PT Excel.

RCMO™ version 1.2 will now allow users to:

  • Review the downtime and failure data for all RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effect Analysis) analyses and for individual RCM and FMEA analyses both before and after the analysis was performed. This permits evaluation of the effectiveness of the analysis and its recommendations.
  • Evaluate the Recommendations that belong to an analysis and identify duplicates, as well as limit the Recommendation list to those that require action. Duplicate Recommendations will continue to be saved with the analysis, but because they are not displayed, these phases are more streamlined and can be completed more efficiently.
  • Organize the Recommendations in an analysis by assigning them to user-defined groups. This feature can be useful when an analysis contains many Recommendations that can be organized logically into one or more categories.
  • Add SAP technical objects to an analysis and view those objects within the context of the SAP equipment and location hierarchy
  • Run analysis-specific reports directly from the analysis itself
  • Limit RCM analysis search results by analysis type. For example, users may search all analyses, only RCM analyses, or only FMEA analyses.
  • Filter the list of Recommendations on any value that appears in any column in the list
  • Configure the columns that will be displayed by default in the Recommendation lists
  • Scroll an RCM analysis tree horizontally and vertically independently of the rest of the main browser window
  • Streamline the process of adding technical objects to an analysis system via “Select All” and “Deselect All” buttons

About RCMO

Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a proven methodology for the development of asset strategies by assessing how assets fail and the associated safety, environment and economic impacts. For decades, manufacturers have used RCM to optimize equipment performance, control risk and improve asset reliability. Unfortunately, many RCM initiatives are never institutionalized due to the challenges of implementation within EAM systems and the difficulty of measuring the effectiveness of the program over time.

SAP and Meridium are addressing the typical challenges of RCM initiatives with RCMOTM, a new RCM solution completely integrated within SAP and built with SAP’s NetWeaverTM technology. RCMOTM greatly simplifies the process of implementing RCM recommendations in SAP, and makes it easy to measure performance and make adjustments over time.

RCMO is a “Certified by SAP NetWeaver” product that:

  • Offers a browser-based user interface integrated into SAP Enterprise Portal
  • Provides the framework for users to define maintenance strategies based upon RCM and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) principles.
  • Integrates the recommendations from an RCM analysis into SAP Maintenance Plans, Items and Notifications.
  • Integrates with SAP Business Warehouse to drive automated re-evaluation of maintenance strategies to ensure effectiveness is constantly measured for continuous improvement.
