Meridium Launches RCMO at SAP-Centric EAM Conference [ 4/4/2006 ]
San Antonio, TX – Meridium Inc., the leader in asset performance management (APM) software and consulting solutions, launched its newest product, RCMO™, a new RCM application co-developed with SAP®, at the SAP-Centric EAM Conference, the premiere gathering for users of SAP’s Enterprise Asset Management While the Reliability Centered Maintenance & Optimization (RCMO) product is relatively new to the general marketplace, in 2005, Meridium engaged a select group of Ramp-Up Partners, including TransAlta, Queensland Alumina, Ltd, Iluka, and PT Excel, to review and advise on future versions of RCMO. Richard Brittin, Manager of Reliability and Performance at TransAlta, Canada’s largest non-regulated power generation company, said, “We expect that RCMO will enhance our success in fleet implementation and sustaining RCM after initial implementation - relative to stand-alone solutions – due to the tight integration to the enterprise-wide asset management system (SAP) and the improved ability to track KPIs. Our staff work in SAP every day and with RCMO ‘bolted-on’ and widely available, we can drive the RCM methodology and culture harder and deeper into our organization.” One of the key goals for Meridium in developing RCMO was to make the implementation of the software as effortless as possible. According to Brittin, “Ramp-up went much more smoothly than we could have hoped for. Our IT Project Manager said this was one of the best enterprise software installations she had seen, either production or ramp-up. The Meridium team made commitments to deliver a scope of work by a certain date and met that commitment.” About RCMO Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a proven methodology for developing effective maintenance strategies. For decades, manufacturers have used RCM to optimize equipment performance, control risk and improve asset reliability. However, many RCM initiatives fall short due to the difficulty of implementation and follow-up. SAP and Meridium are addressing the typical challenges of RCM initiatives with RCMOTM, a new RCM solution tightly integrated with SAP and built with the latest SAP technology. RCMOTM greatly simplifies the process of implementing RCM recommendations in SAP, and makes it easy to measure performance and make adjustments over time. RCMO is a “Certified by SAP NetWeaver” product that: - Offers a browser-based user interface integrated into SAP Enterprise Portal
- Provides the framework for users to define maintenance strategies based upon RCM and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) principles.
- Integrates the recommendations from an RCM analysis into SAP Maintenance Plans at the functional location, equipment, notification, work plan and work item level.
- Integrates with SAP Business Warehouse to drive automated re-evaluation of maintenance strategies to ensure effectiveness is constantly measured for continuous improvement.
