Meridium Releases Version 2.0 of RCMO, the Reliability Centered Maintenance Solution for SAP
[ 2/5/2009 ]

Roanoke, VA – Meridium Inc., the leader in asset performance management (APM) software solutions, today announced the release of version 2.0 of RCMO™ (Reliability Centered Maintenance and Optimization), a solution co-developed by SAP and Meridium, and designed to operate exclusively with the SAP® Enterprise Asset Management™ solution.  Customers who have implemented RCMO include Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company, TransAlta, and Queensland Alumina Ltd.

With this release, RCMO has also been re-certified as an “SAP Endorsed Business Solution.”  During this qualification process, SAP applies its testing process and standards to validate installation and upgrade processes as well as the business process and its integration points to the SAP landscape.

RCMO™ version 2.0 now provides users with:

  • Upfront System Definition and System Criticality Analysis
This feature allows users to identify systems and rank their criticality, and uses this subsequent ranking to determine what systems to analyze first based on criticality.
  • Integration to SAP Document Management System (DMS)
RCMO users may now directly search the SAP DMS for reference information and link directly to those references in their Reliability Centered Maintenance/Failure Mode Effects Analysis (RCM/FMEA) analyses.
  • Decision Logic Builder
This feature asks users a series of questions to document details about the effects of a failure mode and to provide suggestions on how to mitigate risks.
  • Revision History
Modifications in analyses can be tracked and displayed allowing users to see a full history of changes within an analysis.
  • Automatic Node Numbering
RCMO™ now automatically generates node numbers for analysis elements based on where the node is inserted in the RCM/FMEA analysis hierarchy.
  • Mitigated Risk Ranking for Recommendations
Users may now quantify the mitigated risk for each recommendation
  • Many other enhancements for reports, search capabilities, importing analyses, and numerous others.

About RCMO

Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a proven methodology for the development of asset strategies by assessing how assets fail and the associated safety, environment and economic impacts. For decades, manufacturers have used RCM to optimize equipment performance, control risk and improve asset reliability.

Unfortunately, many RCM initiatives are never institutionalized due to the challenges of implementation within EAM systems and the difficulty of measuring the effectiveness of the program over time. SAP and Meridium have addressed the typical challenges of RCM initiatives with RCMOTM, an RCM solution completely integrated within SAP and built with SAP’s NetWeaverTM technology. RCMOTM greatly simplifies the process of implementing RCM recommendations in SAP, and makes it easy to measure performance and make adjustments over time.

RCMO is a “Certified by SAP NetWeaver” product that:

  • Offers a browser-based user interface integrated into SAP Enterprise Portal
  • Provides the framework for users to define maintenance strategies based upon RCM and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) principles.
  • Integrates the recommendations from an RCM analysis into SAP Maintenance Plans, Items and Notifications.
  • Integrates with SAP Business Warehouse to drive automated re-evaluation of maintenance strategies to ensure effectiveness is constantly measured for continuous improvement.
