Queensland Alumina Limited Chooses RCMO

Roanoke, Virginia, USA – Meridium Inc., the leader in asset performance management (APM) software and consulting solutions, today announced that Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL) has chosen RCMO for its reliability centered maintenance software at their site in Gladstone, Queensland, Australia. The Gladstone alumina refinery is currently the largest in the world, with an annual rated capacity of 3.8 million tonnes "Queensland Alumina has chosen RCMO for reliability centered maintenance initiative largely due to the integration of the product with our existing SAP system," said Colin McDonald, Maintenance Services Manager at QAL. "QAL believes that an effective RCM program will contribute to optimizing equipment performance, help control risk, and assist in improving the reliability of our production assets. This tool will be one of the set that we use to, establish an agreed and signed off strategy, ensure that we do not stray from that strategy – in essence, to stay in control and to modify strategies where there is a gap in performance." RCMOTM is a new RCM solution tightly integrated with SAP® and built with the latest SAP technology. RCMO greatly simplifies the process of implementing RCM recommendations in SAP, and makes it easy to measure performance and make adjustments over time by: - providing the framework to define maintenance strategies based upon RCM and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) principles
- integrating the recommendations from an RCM analysis into SAP Maintenance Plans in SAP
- driving automated re-evaluation of maintenance strategies to ensure effectiveness is constantly measured for continuous improvement
SAP and Meridium have cooperated on the design, development and testing of RCMO, which is certified by SAP as a Powered by NetWeaverTM solution.
